Snacks are the hardest for me, I never know which ones I should eat and if they are they the healthiest choice for my diet. So, I decided to scour the internet and compile what I think are the 10 must have healthy snack ideas. I hope this list helps you the next time you shop for healthy snacks. Walnuts, almonds and even pistachios are a great afternoon snack. The healthy fats are sure to keep you full till dinner time with just a small handful.
Nature’s best pre-packaged fruit. Bananas are an easy snack to carry with you anywhere.
3. Air-Popped Popcorn
Drizzle a little olive oil and Old Bay to give it some flavor.
4. String cheese
For you dairy lovers a pre-wrapped piece of string cheese is an easy grab and go snack.
5. Hard Boiled Eggs
I have a carton of uncooked and a carton of hard-boiled in my fridge all the time. They’re an easy and protein packed snack to have on hand.
6. Veggie sticks and dip
Sometimes I need some crunch, so I slice up a few celery sticks and carrots place a small amount of dressing for dipping on the side.
7. Tuna salad
Make some tuna salad (to make your tuna salad healthy use homemade mayo or even mustard to keep the calories low) and grab a couple of whole wheat crackers for a delicious and healthy snack.
8. Tomato slices
I like sliced tomatoes with a sprinkle of fresh basil and olive oil for a light snack with lots of flavor.
9. Avocado toast
Take some avocado and spread it on a slice of whole wheat toast. For my gluten free friends use a corn tortilla or any gluten free bread.
10. Apple slices
Slice an apple and place a plethora of spreads on it (almond butter, cashew butter or even a slice of cheese)
Snacking does not have to bland or complicated; next time you’re at the grocery store pick up some of these healthy snack ideas and let the snacking BEGIN!
