Recently I’ve been trying to clean up my life. I eat pretty healthy , workout, and take the stairs when I can… but clean living is definitely a work in progress for me. My most recent clean up has been my lunch containers.
I have been using those grocery store throw away cheap containers for a while now and it only recently occurred to me that I might be getting a big dose of chemicals with my healthy home made lunch each day when I toss it in the microwave to heat up. What on earth was I thinking buying plastic containers to microwave my food in every day?!
So I searched and searched Amazon.com for a better alternative. After a lot of research and price considerations, I finally settled on a set of Pyrex glass containers. I purchased two sets and they arrived today. I can’t wait to start using them! They are the perfect size for lunches, salads, and even larger storage bowls.
You can get a set here: Pyrex Storage 14-Piece Round Set, Clear with Blue Lids
The set does have plastic lids, but I can live with taking the lids off to reheat my food… I’m thinking if the container was all glass there wouldn’t be a good seal to keep food fresh and well contained in my lunch bag and freezer etc. Oh, and did I mention that the lids are BPA free?
Here’s the break down of each set:
- 4 – two cup bowls with lids
- 2- four cup bowls with lids
- 1- seven cup bowl with lid
The sets are $18.00 each and ship free with Amazon Prime (probably eligible for free supersaver shipping too).
